ARGH words……..I don’t even know how to start this post even thought I know what I want to say. I can’t translate my thoughts to paper very well and it can be so frustrating. I used to be awesome at writing when I was at school LOL like a hundred years ago!
Ok so, Words can have such an adverse effect when written, as opposed to speaking. For instance when you speak a sentence it can mean one thing but when you type it or message it to someone it can be interpreted to mean a whole different thing! How does that even work? God teaches us to watch EVERY word that comes out of our mouths and it would seem there is good reason for that. Just last night I messaged my eldest daughter about a problem with my youngest daughter, but, instead of sending it to my eldest daughter it went to my youngest EEEEEK!! The thing is she is a very offensive girl and takes offense about everything so wow didn’t this blow up out of proportion and now she hates me. The point is not only watch where you send your messages (lol) BUT if I had’ve been following God’s Word I wouldn’t have said anything and this whole situation would not have happened. The message was totally misunderstood and strife had a field day with it. Of course I have since repented of that sin, rebuked Strife and it’s now in God’s hands but wow a good lesson learned!
As Christians we need to meditate on God’s word constantly. We need to fully grasp the power our words hold. We need to be ever vigilant with how we speak over, to and about our kids, we need to speak God’s life into them by using positive, wholesome words that we know will shape their futures. Ephesians 4:29 tell us;
29 Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.
I have certainly learnt a very valuable lesson. Praise be to God for teaching me and correcting me!
Be Blessed! X
