Armor of God…

Well it’s Monday morning here and it’s a public holiday but hubby has gone off to work for half a day and left me in peace lol! I just got done with my prayer time, made a coffee and suddenly felt compelled to write this post. I think God wants this message out there today for those who will listen!  We are in treacherous times and we all need to be aware

The Armor of God, what is it? It is our spiritual force field I guess we could say it is, our protection against the spiritual forces that attack us day by day. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 6 that we aren’t wrestling against flesh and blood but against evil spirits who wish to do us harm and stop us in our walk with God (Full scripture Eph 6:12).  Those negatives thoughts that come into our heads, that argument that started over nothing, that situation that go out of hand,  all of these things are attacks from the devil, you see, his attacks are subtle, unless we are on our guard we miss them but they do the greatest amount of damage.  For this reason God gave us spiritual armor that we must put on every day.  My personal experience, if I don’t put it on, some strife will get it’s way in and cause me a less than ordinary day, I am getting to the stage now where I recognise it and rebuke it but if I get no other prayers done of a morning I make sure my armor goes on.  When you put your armor on visualize doing it, piece by piece, see yourself wearing a full soldiers armor and it will make a huge difference to your day! These tools God gave us because he knows better than anyone how hard a walk of Faith is in these times!

I wrote this Prayer, to simplify the process but it is straight from scripture so it is just as powerful, it just makes better sense for those of us who use Laymans terms lol!

I stand here before you Lord & put on your whole armor that you hve given us so that we can withstand any attack, trouble or crisis the devil will try and put on me today.  Standing strong I tighten the belt of Truth around my waist, I put on the Breastplate of righteousness, I shod my feet with the Gospel of Peace and take up my Shield of Faith. Lastly, I cover my head with the Helmet of Salvation & wield the Sword of the Spirit which is God’s Word.  I am a soldier in the Army of the Lord and I am FULLY prepared for battle!  In Jesus Precious Name, AMEN!! (adapted from Ephesians 6:14)

Have a truly Blessed Day! X
